Where do I start?

The best place to start is with an eight-lesson Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course.

If you would like an orientation to Iyengar Yoga, come along to a 60-minute Iyengar Yoga Orientation

After completing an Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course, you can either repeat the course to solidify the learning or you can move on to a Level I class. 

If you have already done some yoga (say 6-12 months or more), try a Level I or Level I/II class. 
 

Iyengar Yoga Orientation

This class is for students who are new to Yoga (and new to our centre) who would like to have an orientation to Iyengar Yoga. In the class, the teacher will give students a sample class of Iyengar Yoga and provide information at a basic Level about the practice of Yoga.

Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course

What is an Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course?

The Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course:

  • is an eight-class course
  • is ideal for people who are new to Iyengar Yoga
  • teaches the fundamentals of Iyengar Yoga
  • is a systematic course that starts with the basics and builds from there
  • is limited to a small number of pre-enrolled students (6 students)
  • allows you to attend a "make up" class if you miss out on a class during the course

Advantage of Starting With a Course

  • you start with other people at the same leval at the same time
  • the course starts at the very basic level and progresses over the duration of the course 
  • supports you in making a commitment to learning Yoga

What Should I Do After the Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course?

Following the “Introductory Iyengar Yoga Course”, some students choose to repeat the course once more to solidify learning or you can attend “Level I” classes. If you are not sure what to do next, please talk to your teacher.
