Stephanie made her first journey to the source RIMYI in 1991. Inspired by the Iyengar's depth of knowledge and their dynamic presence for their students, she returned to Pune in 1994. She remained based in Pune since then. Consequently she has spent many years working directly with the Iyengars and assisting them in general and therapeutic classes.

Shobhna Chellaram has been a student of B.K.S. Iyengar for the last 22 years. Annually she spends months at a time in Pune to study at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute (RIMYI) and be in Guruji's presence and under Geetaji's tutelage.
Practising Yoga asanas, gives us the chance to experience "being on a thin edge" , overcome the fear of falling and finding the balance" which gives us a feeling of sharpness and independence. In order to keep the balance, we need concentration (Dhahran - one of the eight limbs of Ashtanga Yoga) - where attention is not spilled out. And that which we learn in our practice, we can apply to our lives too.
